DentSure is a software Company that was created at the start of the new Millennium to enable patients to exploit the benefits of the Internet in an environment of safety, confidence and trust. The CEO Dr Nigel Knott is a Dental Surgeon with very many years experience of clinical practice who understands the advantages of embracing the latest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) within a professionally regulated environment.
His work in the field of Computer Assisted Design (CAD) and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) with Renishaw Plc (www.renishaw.com) will lead to the digitisation of dental processes in the field of Prosthodontics. This will bring peerless quality control and efficiency to the manufacturing of dental prostheses (crowns, bridges and dentures) which will fit better and last longer.
DentSure initially developed software to make it easy for dental practices to advertise their services on the Internet and Practice Box was the first do-it-yourself website service in the UK. In 2011 DentSure entered into a commercial partnership with Dental Focus (www.dentalfocus.com) who is now the largest provider of dental practice websites in the UK. At the same time DentSure launched their new e-communications and website compliance service Valident.
The Valident software enables patients to communicate through a dental practice website with the confidence that their e-communications are fully protected by encryption technology. This ensures sensitive patient identifiable information (PII) is transferred to the dental practice data controller within a padlocked environment. All e-data is hosted within an ISO 27001 certificated facility in the UK.
Valident certificated websites are designed to engender the confidence and trust of patients who seek confirmation their dental practice complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and GDC Patient Confidentiality Guidelines.
